CANTON, Ohio - The SVSU women's golf team sits in 10th place overall after the opening day of the Cavs Classic, hosted by Walsh University at the Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.

The Cardinals shot an opening round score of 331, two strokes back of Lewis University. Northern Michigan University leads after round one with a total score of 307.

Saginaw Valley was led in round one by Shelbe Cahill's 79 (+7), as she sits tied for 15th overall after 18 holes.

Alexa Marston is tied for 30th with her score of 82. Sabrina Coffman posted an 83, sitting tied for 33rd overall.

Emily Barker's 87 has her tied for 45th overall, rounding-out day one scoring for the Cards.

Kaitlyn Morrissey also competed for Saginaw Valley, carding a score of 98 to sit 62nd overall.

Up Next...

The team returns to the course on Tuesday with second round action in Canton.
