Women's Golf sets new 18-hole mark in Perry Park opening round

PERRY PARK, Ky. - The SVSU women's golf team hit the road to Kentucky for a second straight weekend, competing at the Perry Park Spring Fling on Saturday (Mar. 25) for the first round. The Lady Cardinals shot an opening round score of 325, surpassing last weekend's 18-hole record of 327 for a single round. 

That score has SVSU tied for 11th place overall in the regional event at +37. The Cards are just a single sroke behind Ohio Dominican, while Findlay leads the tournament after an opening 297. 

Emily Barker paced SV in the opening round with a score of 78 (+6), as she sits in a tie for 26th after the first round. Alexa Marston is tied for 38th with her opening score of 80 (+8). Sabrina Coffman recorded an 83 (+11) and is tied for 55th overall while Jenna Pepper rounded-out the team's scoring with her 84 (+12) and tied for 60th standing. Shelbe Cahill matched Pepper's round of 84 as well and is also tied for 60th overall.

The ladies continue with the second round in Kentucky on Sunday (Mar. 26) at the Perry Park Country Club.
