Lady Cardinals Finish 7th at SVSU Spring Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The SVSU women's golf team posted a seventh place finish at the SVSU Spring Invitational, hosted by the Cardinals at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky. 

The Cardinals finished with a two-day score of 669, finishing seven strokes behind sixth-place Ferris State. Grand Valley State won the event with a total score of 630.

SVSU was led by Sabrina Coffman, who carded scores of 81-83 to finish tied for 18th place overall. Next were Alexa Marston and Jenna Pepper, who both finished in a tie for 31st. Marston had scores of 84-86 while Pepper notched rounds of 87-83. Emily Barker and Shelbe Cahill tied for 34th with their total scores of 174. Barker had scores of 91-80 while Cahill went for rounds of 90-81.

Katie Boyd, Kaitlyn Morrissey and Payton Steinhaus all competed as individuals for the Cardinals. Boyd shot 94-84, Morrissey went 95-86 and Steinhaus shot rounds of 100-85. 

The Cards are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, as they travel to compete in the NCAA Regional tournament. The event is slated to be hosted at the Perry Park Golf Resort in Perry Park, Kentucky.
