Lady Cardinals finish 9th at Northwood Invitational

MIDLAND, Mich. - Competing in the second round of the Northwood Invitational at the Midland Country Club, the SVSU women's golf team finished in ninth place overall after play on Tuesday.

The Lady Cardinals followed up their first round score of 329 with a 330, finishing three strokes behind eighth place Ohio Dominican University. The University of Findlay claimed the overall title, posting a 27 shot win over the host Timberwolves.

Alexa Marston had the low round on Tuesday for SV, carding a 10-over score of 80. She finished tied for 32nd with a total score of 164 (+24). Teammate Sabrina Coffman tied for 32nd as well, following her first round score of 81 with an 83 for her 164.

Emily Barker carded an 83 (+13) on day two, finishing tied for 40th overall with a score of 167. Katie Boyd was the final score to count on Tuesday, posting an 84 and finishing with a 175.

Shelbe Cahill finished 46th overall after her scores of 80-89 (169, +29). 

Saginaw Valley continues play with its final fall tournament on Sunday (Apr. 9), as the Lady Cards play at the Findlay Invitational. It's set to be played at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
