SVSU women sit in 8th after opening day of Northwood Invitational

MIDLAND, Mich. - The SVSU women's golf team competed on day one at the Northwood University Invitational, hosted by the Timberwolves at the Midland Country Club. The course was set up as a par 70 and 5,851 yards.

The Lady Cardinals posted an opening day score of 329 and sit in eighth place, five strokes behind seventh place Wayne State University. The University of Findlay leads after the opening 18 holes with a score of 296.

Shelbe Cahill was the low round for SV, carding an opening round of 80 (+10). She sits in a tie for 24th place overall.

Sabrina Coffman was next, posting a score of 81, as she is in a tie for 28th.

Emily Barker and Alexa Marston rounded-out the scoring for the Cards, each shooting an 84. They are tied for 40th after day one.

Saginaw Valley is back in action on Tuesday in round two of the tournament.
