BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The SVSU women's golf team posted a sixth place finish at the 2016 Ferris State Invitational, hosted at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The ladies shot rounds of 341-332, shaving nine strokes off on day two to finish with the 673 total.

Alexa Marston led the way on day two, posting a score of 81 (+9) to finish with a two day total of 166 following her opening round of 85. Teammate Emily Barker had an 82 on Sunday after her 84 she posted Saturday, finishing with that same 166 score. Those scores tied the ladies for 23rd overall to lead Saginaw Valley.

Sabrina Coffman had rounds of 84-84 to finish in 31st place overall and Katie Boyd tied for 37th after her rounds of 88-85. Payton Steinhaus followed up her first round 89 with another 89, finishing tied for 41st overall. 

The Lady Cardinals return to the links on Saturday, as they travel to play in the GVSU Invitational, held at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan.
