Zarycki Claims Back-To-Back GLIAC Player of the Week Awards

GLIAC – Saginaw Valley State University senior guard Kaitlyn Zarycki was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball player of the week for the second-straight week on Monday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Zarycki led the way in a 2-0 week for SVSU. The senior guard led in scoring and averaged 4.5 steals and 6.0 rebounds as the Cardinals began GLIAC play with a win. She leads the league in scoring with 22.3 points per game and steals with 3.6 per contest. The Niles, Michigan product also ranks second in the conference in free-throw percentage at 92.1 and fourth in both three-point percentage at 45.9 and assists per game at 3.9.

This is the fifth conference weekly award for Zarycki's career. It is also the second player of the week award for the SVSU women's basketball program this season.

Zarycki will lead the Cardinals back onto the court on Friday night in a GLIAC contest against Parkside inside James E. O'Neill Jr. Arena at 6:00 PM.
