Beaverton, Ore. - Saginaw Valley State University junior forward Emily Wendling was chosen as the Women's Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for February after a series of stellar performances.

The leading scorer in the GLIAC at 18.8 ppg, Wendling averaged a double-double through Feb. 20 with 18.0 ppg and 11.5 rpg, notching four double-doubles in the six-game stretch. She shot 51.8 percent from the floor and 90.9 percent from the free throw line. Wendling added five blocks and seven steals as well. Wendling put up 22 points in the first game of the month against Hillsdale and follow that performance with 14 points and 17 rebounds against Lake Superior State. She was a Player of the Week in the GLIAC North for the fifth time this season.

The Lady Cardinals remain in a tie atop the GLIAC North Division Standings heading into Thursday (Feb. 25) night's regular season finale against Hillsdale College. SVSU is 19-7 overall and 16-5 in league play and is tied with Michigan Tech. One more victory would mark the program's first 20-win season since the 1997-98 campaign (20-7).
