UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – This month's Women's Basketball "Get to Know" spotlight is of freshman forward, Halee Nieman. Halee comes to the Cardinals from nearby Midland, Michigan after a standout high school career at Bullock Creek.

Below are a few comments from Head Coach, Jamie Pewinski, about Halee Nieman:

"Halee has had arguably one of the best high school careers of anyone in the state of Michigan. Her team was all about winning and, while Halee could have put up bigger stats at times, she was not concerned with anything but the victory. She played inside a lot in high school, but we will mostly use her on the perimeter. Halee has been working hard this preseason and it's her work ethic and never-ending energy that are her biggest assets!" – Coach Pewinski

Here is what Halee had to say about her first month on campus as a student-athlete:

"My first month on campus has been great! I love getting to know my teammates and working with them. Classes are going well, but I'm most excited to get going with official practice and games!"
