SVSU Women's Basketball 'Get to Know': Abby Schlicher

SVSU Women's Basketball 'Get to Know': Abby Schlicher

UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI – Next up for the Women's Basketball "Get to Know" segment is freshman guard, Abby Schlicher. A native of Lewiston, MI, Abby came to the Cardinals with an unbelievable work ethic and desire to improve. She contributed in 17 games this season and established herself as an offensive threat when on the floor for SVSU.

Below are a few comments from Head Coach, Jamie Pewinski, about Abby Schlicher:

"Abby joined our program in early September and was able to hit the ground running with our system. If you were to ask any of her teammates, they'd tell you that Abby has a great willingness to get better and works extremely hard with anything that is asked of her. She has become a valuable member of the SVSU Women's Basketball program and we're very lucky to have her.

She was one of our nine student-athletes that were honored at the SVSU Student-Athlete Academic Banquet in February and represents our team with high class in the university community. Abby is a great person who truly cares about her team and coaches. We are so excited to see what lies ahead for her."

Here's what Abby had to say about the 2013-14 season and her WBB teammates:

In the first part of the season it was a big adjustment for me. The pace is much quicker at the college level. However, towards the end of the season I really started to settle in and get comfortable. I can't wait for next year to see what it brings. We have so much talent on our team and we're only going to get better. I am so lucky to be able to be on a team with such a great group of girls. They really made my freshman year enjoyable, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my career with them!
