Evie Kammeyer joined the SVSU Track & Field and Cross Country coaching staff in early summer 2020 as the program's assistant coach. Evie comes to Saginaw Valley from Buena Vista University, where she was the Assistant Track & Field / Cross Country Coach.

During the 2021-22 cross country season, Kammeyer helped lead the Cardinal women to the NCAA DII National Meet. The Cardinals placed fourth at the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Meet to advance to nationals, where they placed 14th. Five SVSU women earned All-GLIAC honors. Arianna Wegienka landed on the First Team, while Alexa Keiser, Maddie Isola, Jenna Picard, and Lauren Buckner all ran to Second Team All-GLIAC. On the men's side, CarLee Stimpfel earned First Team All-GLIAC honors, while Seth Schaefer picked up Second Team honors. Stimpfel went on to win the NCAA Midwest Regional individual title in a course record 10k time and advance to nationals, where he placed third and earned All-American honors for the third straight cross country season. 

In her first season with the Cardinals, the 2020-21 track season was an outstanding one for SVSU. Cheyenne Williamson was named GLIAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet, Field Athlete of the meet, High Point Athlete of the Meet, and Field Athlete of the Year. She went on to win a national championship in the women's indoor pentathlon, as well as the long jump and 60 meter hurdles. The Lady Cardinals scored 35 points and finished in fifth place in the NCAA DII Indoor Championships. On the men's side, the distance medley relay team and CarLee Stimpfel qualified for the NCAA DII Indoor Championships. The team of Brendan Nesbitt, Jared McLean, Riley Feeney, and Ryan Talbott placed seventh to earn All-American honors. During the outdoor season, Stimpfel and Sam Black were the men's qualifiers for the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, with Black earning a national title in the decathlon event. Stimpfel went on to place 14th in the 5000-meter run. On the women's side, Williamson won the national title in the heptathlon event. She went on to team up with Lauren Huebner, Alona Olshevska, and Morgan Fuerst to win the 4x400-meter relay national title. 

While at Buena Vista, Kammeyer oversaw the 21 men's and women's distance runners in the program, helping lead the program to a top-12 regional finish and she guided one student-athlete to an All-Central Region performance. Under her direction, there were five new program records established and the team improved three spots in its conference finish. 

Kammeyer was a student-athlete at Central College from 2014-18, where she was a national qualifier in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and a three-time All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference performer. She was a USTFCCCA All-Region student-athlete and captained the cross country team. Evie finished her collegiate career at the University of Mary, where she earned All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference honors and trained and raced along with the national runners-up. 

Evie earned her bachelor of arts degree in biology from Central College in 2018 and her masters of science degree from the University of Mary in 2020 in kinesiology.
