Track and Field Takes Select Cardinals for Hillsdale Last Chance Meet

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Select student-athletes from the Saginaw Valley State University track and field team competed at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet on Wednesday. Two men and three women individual athletes, along with one men's relay team, made the trip to try and qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships taking place in a few weeks.

The event was highlighted by the men's 4x100 relay team of Trevor Culpepper, Quin Broussard, Jordon Brown, and Matthew Gazzarato, who finished second with a time of 40.49 to hit an NCAA DII provisional time.

Janae Hudson placed third in the women's hammer with a toss of 46.94m.

Madisyn Lundquist cleared the pole vault bar at a height of 3.57m to finish second in her heat, seventh overall.

Noah Shaw placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 45.96m. He was 10th in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 46.65m.

Lukas Ray placed eighth in the shot put with a best throw of 15.45m.

Grace Collett finished third in her heat of the women's 100 hurdle prelims with a time of 14.36. Collett was 10th overall and just missed the cut for the final race.
