UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior Alona Olshevska was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's indoor track athlete of the week by the league office on Tuesday (Dec. 5) morning.

Olshevska won the 400-meter run during SVSU's Holiday Open, the opening Indoor Track & Field Meet of the 2023-24 season. Olshevska finished with an NCAA Provisional time of 54.56 seconds to win the event. The time was just .12 seconds from her PR in the 400, her school record.

The SVSU track & field teams will travel to Allendale, Michigan this Friday to compete in the GVSU Holiday Open. This is the final competition of the calendar year for the Cardinals.
