Eight Track & Field Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades

NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honors for the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Saginaw Valley State University had eight student-athletes earn all-region honors in the Midwest after strong performances throughout the 2019 outdoor season. 

Noah Dooley - Decathlon - Dooley finished runner-up at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships, totaling 6,252 points for the Cardinals. 

Tom Goforth - 5,000 Meters & 10,000 Meters - Tom ran to a time of 14:10.17 at the 2019 Raleigh Relays, which currently ranks him 14th nationally and is a program record in the race. He ranks 5th in the nation in the 10,000 meter run, posting a mark of 29:31.21 at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. 

Jacob Netschke - Decathlon - Netschke posted a total of 6,327 points in the decathlon at the 2019 GLIAC Outdoor Championships, taking home the title in the event. 

Ryan Talbott - 10,000 Meters - Talbott ranks 7th in the country, right behind Goforth after registering a time of 29:35.60 at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. 

Casey Williams - Long Jump - Williams registered a distance of 23' 8" at the 2019 GLIAC Outdoor Championships, claiming the league title in the event and earning himself Freshman Field Athlete of the Meet. 

Angie Higgins - 100 Meter Hurdles & 200 Meter Dash - Higgins posted a time of 14.09 in the 100 hurdles at the 2019 Mount Olive Final Qualifier and had a time of 24.46 at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships. 

Lauren Huebner - Heptathlon, 400 Meter Hurdles & 100 Meter Hurdles - Huebner has an NCAA Auto qualifying mark of 5,213 points that she posted at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She ranks 10th nationally in the 400 hurdles, posting a time of 59.40 seconds at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships. Huebner had a time of 14.02 seconds at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships as well, finishing-off a sweep and claiming both titles in the championships. Her point total in the heptathlon and time in the 100 hurdles are both program records as well. 

Jenna Keiser - 3,000 Meter Steeplechase - Keiser registered a program record in the event and ranks 20th nationally with her time of 10:39.50. She had that mark at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Track & Field Meet.
