Netschke, Dooley sit top-two after first day of GLIAC Outdoor Championships

ALLENDALE -- The SVSU Track & Field program had two student-athletes begin competition on Wednesday at the 2019 GLIAC Outdoor Championships, which are being hosted at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. After day one of competition, two Cardinals sit in 1st and 2nd place.

Jacob Netschke is on top with 3,639 points for SVSU and teammate Noah Dooley is right behind with 3,548 points.

Netschke had the top performance in the high jump, clearing the bar at a height of 6' 6 1/4" for 794 points. He finished 2nd in the 100, long jump and 400 while placing 3rd in the shot put. 

Dooley registered the top finish in three events, taking 1st in the 100 with a time of 10.82 seconds, the long jump with a distance of 22' 4 1/2" and the 400 with a time of 50.05 seconds. He was 5th in the shot put and 6th in the high jump.
