PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Five members of the Saginaw Valley State University Indoor Track & Field teams are set to compete this weekend at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. The championship meet will be hosted at Pittsburg State University and run Friday, Mar. 8 through Saturday, Mar. 9.
Friday
2:00 p.m. ET - Casey Williams will compete in the long jump to begin the day for the Cardinals. Williams is coming off a GLIAC Championship in the event and enters the weekend as the 15th-ranked jumper with his distance of 24' 4.25".
5:55 p.m. ET - Allison Dorr will compete in the 5,000 meter run. Dorr is ranked 18th in the nation in the event with a seed time of 16:53.60 that she posted earlier this season at the GVSU Big Meet. That mark is a school record as well.
6:15 p.m. ET - Tom Goforth follows Dorr and will race in the 5,000 meter run as well. Goforth is the 8th-seeded runner in the event nationally after his qualifying time of 14:10.89 at the GVSU Holiday Open. That mark is a program record for Tom as well.
Saturday
10:00 a.m. ET - Lauren Huebner begins her competition in the pentathlon with the 60 meter hurdles. Huebner enters this year's championships as the 8th-best seed nationally with a total score of 3,663. That program record was achieved at the SVSU Holiday Open. 5:05 p.m. ET - Ryan Kelly rounds-out the competition for SVSU at the meet, competing in the shot put. Kelly registered a new school record of 59' 2.25" this year at the SVSU Classic and that ranks him 9th overall in the nation.
