The 2018 NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field All-Region Honorees Announced

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division II indoor track & field season.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top-3 relay teams. Only athletes form USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for the award.

On the men's side, a total of 559 earned All-Region honors from 124 different institutions were given, with Saginaw Valley State earning nine.

Parker Eisengruber earned two All-Region accolades, first for the 3000 Meters, where he is currently ranked fifth overall. He earned his second honor for his participation in the Distance Medley Relay.

Andrew Mudd is currently second in the midwest region for the men's heptathlon, earning the All-Region honor. With his efforts in the GLIAC Championships, he took home first place and set a new school record with 5398 points. Also, he earned an NCAA auto bid to the DII Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Sam Black followed closely behind Mudd and is currently ranked fourth in the men's hepathlon, earning himself All-Region honors.

Noah VanderVeen ranked second in the midwest for the men's high jump competition, earning his All-Region accolades. VanderVeen took first place at the GLIAC Championships with a finishing mark of 2.12m (6'11.5").

Jordan Walters rounds out the men's honors with two accolades. His first was in the men's 800m, where he is currently ranked third in the midwest. In addition, he was apart of the Distance Medley Relay team who is currently top three in the midwest.

Carter Eckhardt and Brendan Nesbitt earned All-Region for their participation in the DMR, as well.

A total of 521 women from 120 different institutions picked up All-Region honors, with SVSU's Lauren Huebner earning her accolade for the pentathlon. She placed second at the GLIAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 24.
