Cardinals Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Saginaw Valley State University Track & Field programs had 10 student-athletes honored with United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Individual honors for the 2016-17 academic year. 

Women

SVSU had six student-athletes receive the national academic honor on the women's side. Anna Fochesato, Alicia Tomlin, Lauren Huebner, Allison Dorr, Morgan Fuerst and Taylor Stepanski were all honored with the national recognition. 

Including the Scholar Athletes of the Year, a total of 471 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons.

Men

On the men's side, the Cardinals had Clyde Anderson III, Parker Eisengruber, Joey Southgate and Sam Black earn the distinction. 

Including the Scholar Athletes of the Year, a total of 301 men earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
