Stepanski Finishes Weekend with All-American Showing for SVSU at NCAA Championships

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Saginaw Valley State University Track & Field team finished its 2017 season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. An all-american showing from senior Taylor Stepanski highlighted the final day at the IMG Academy in Florida.

Stepanski posted a fourth place finish in the 1,500 meter run, earning all-american honors again in her Cardinal career. She completed the race in a time of 4:21.61, notching her personal best time in the race and breaking her own school record.

Ryan Kelly competed for SVSU in the shot put, tallying a distance of 16.82 meters at the championship event. He finished in 11th place overall in the event. 

Tom Goforth was the final competitor for the Cards for the 2017 championships, as he ran in the 5,000 meter run. Goforth finished in 19th place with a time of 15:20.43.

The outdoor championships wrap-up the 2017 season for Saginaw Valley, with the Cards pulling-in three all-american honors in the meet.
