Track & Field Travels to Hillsdale for Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The SVSU track and field team traveled to Hillsdale College to compete in the Gina Relays this weekend.

On the first day of competition (April 28), Clyde Anderson finished third in the 5,000 meter run, posting a time of 14:53.62. Tristan Fackelman followed in 11th, recording a time of 15:09.87.

In the women's 5,000 meter run, Allison Door took 13th with a time of 17:38.81.

David Jensen took home another third place finish for the Cardinals in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:58.75.

On the second day of competition (April 29), Eddie Komph placed 10th and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships in the 5,000 meter run, recording a time of 14:28.49.

Teammate Tom Goforth also provisionally qualified in the event and took 13th at a time of 14:36.47.

In the 10,000 meter run, Joey Southgate provisionally qualified for the NCAA championships and placed 17th with a time of 30:41.84.

The Cardinals also competed at the Calvin Tune-Up Invitational on Friday, April 29. Devin Hartnagle finished fifth in the hammer throw with a best distance of 50.21 meters.

Cady Sandel took first in the javelin throw, marking a distance of 32.05 meters.

The Cardinals will wrap up the Gina Relays tomorrow, April 30th.
