Track & Field Posts Top Finishes at Bellarmine Invitational

LOUISVILLE, KY - The SVSU track & field team traveled south to Kentucky to compete in the Bellarmine Invitational. The Cards finished day one with several top finishes.

In the women's 1,500 meter run, Taylor Stepanski took first, posting a time of 4:34.07. Teammates Dominique Adams and Alicia Tomlin finished 15th and 17th, respectively at times of 5:01.76 and 5:03.71.

DeAnna Stickler-Gatson finished runner up in the 400 meter dash, finishing with a time of 58.41.

Lina Davis took fourth in the women's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.68.

In the 5,000 meter run, Allison Dorr posted a fifth place finish, recording a time of 17:50.19.

Anna Fochesato took second in the triple jump, marking a best distance of 11.16 meters.

In the women's javelin, Cady Sandel posted a distance of 31.86 meters and took third.

Tristan Fackelman took first in the men's 10,000 meter run with a time of 31:54.34, followed by Clyde Anderson in second at 31:55.73 in his first 10K race. Thomas Kean took fourth, coming in at 32:34.65 for a new personal best.

In the men's 800 meter run, Gerald Henderson placed ninth, marking a time of 1:59.35.

In the hammer throw, Devin Hartnagle posted a 10th place finish with a throw of 44.77 meters. Ben Morrow finished 12th at 44.08 meters, followed by Ryan Tilney in 18th at 37.60 meters.

Robert Tarpley took first in the triple jump, recording a best distance of 44.46 meters. Brady Watson placed fourth with a mark of 13.25 meters and Tyler Debuf finished sixth at 11.68 meters.

The Cardinals will finish up at the Bellarmine Invitational tomorrow in day two of competition.
