Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Miami Duals Meet

OXFORD, Ohio - The SVSU track & field team opened the outdoor season today at the Miami (Ohio) Duals. The meet was ended early due to high winds.

Emerald Joiner finished eighth in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.3 meters. Joiner took 12th in the hammer throw, marking a final distance of 46.57 meters.

Ola Hendler placed 15th in the 800 meter run, marking a time of 2:32.27.

In the women's 100 yard dash, Bria Williams posted a time of 12.82 and finished 12th.

Jacki Sheaffer took 10th place with a time of 1:04.84.

In the men's high jump, Sam Black took finished third at a final height of 1.95 meters. He was followed by Drue Pisha, who tied for fourth at 1.80 meters.

Ben Morrow and Ryan Tilney placed eighth and ninth in the shot put, respectively. Morrow's best throw was 13.34 meters and Tilney's was 13.21.

In the hammer, Devin Hartnagle finished runner up, recording a throw of 51.83 meters. Morrow took eighth at 42.28 meters and Tilney was 11th at 37.54 meters.

Andrew Mudd took 15th in the 100 meter dash, marking a time of 11.30.

In the 400 meter race, Noah Vanderveen took ninth with a time of 53.50 and Gerald Henderson finished tenth at 53.99.

Up Next for the Cardinals...

The Cardinals will be at split next weekend (April 8-9) between the Bellarmine Invitational and Michigan State Invitational.
