Track & Field Wraps Up at NCAA Indoor Championships

Pittsburgh, KS - The SVSU track & field team finished competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships today, March 12 at Pitt State in Pittsburgh, Kansas.

Robert Atwater tied for sixth in the high jump, crossing the bar at a final height of 2.06 meters. He earned his first All-American honors for SVSU with the performance.

In the triple jump, Robert Tarpley finished ninth, posting a best distance of 14.88 meters.

Taylor Stepanski finished eighth in the 800 meter run finals, posting a time of 2:13.13. 

In the shot put, Emerald Joiner took 11th place with a best throw of 13.81 meters.

Anna Fochesato finished seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 39' 10". Fochesato broke the SVSU indoor program record that she set two weeks ago at the 2016 GLIAC Indoor Championships in the triple jump by four inches.

The SVSU track & field team will be back in action at the Bellarmine Invite on April 1, when the Cardinal begin the outdoor portion of their season.
