Cardinals Compete in Day One of NCAA Indoor Championships

Pittsburgh, KS - The SVSU track & field team completed day one of competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by Pitt State.

Taylor Stepanski qualified for the finals and took eighth in the 800 meter run prelims with a time of 2:10.28. She finished national runner-up in the event last year.

Anna Fochesato tied for 11th in the finals in the high jump at a final height of 1.66 meters.

Robert Tarpley took 10th in the long jump, marking a distance of 7.39 meters. It was his first appearance at the national indoor meet.

In the first day of heptathlon events, Andrew Mudd placed 13th in both the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.33 and the long jump at a distance of 6.36 meters. In the shot put, Mudd placed 10th, throwing 11.99 meters.

The final day of competition takes place Saturday, March 11. Events being at 9:00 am with the women's pentathlon kicking off the day. The following SVSU athletes will be competing on Saturday with all times central.
