INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A pair of SVSU Women's Swimming & Diving student-atheltes will advance to compete for the Cardinals at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championships.
Amanda Thielen will compete in the NCAA Division II National Championships in a pair of backstroke events while Elizabeth Caird will compete in the NCAA Division II Dive-in Qualifying Meet, which takes place on March 12 prior to the championships.
Thielen had her qualifying time of 2:01.41 in the 200 backstroke, which was her NCAA 'B' Cut Qualifying time she posted at the Wabash College Invitational. She has a B qualifying time of 56.39 seconds in the 100 backstroke, posted at the 2019 GLIAC Championships.
Caird will compete to be one of the top-22 divers that moves on to the championships. Her 398.55 points at the Wabash College Invitational are her best in the 1 meter dive while her best mark in the 3 meter dive event came at the GLIAC Championships with her total of 428.70.
This year's championships are set to take place March. 13-16 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
