GLIAC — The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the fourth weekly awards of the swimming and diving season. Saginaw Valley's senior Lydia Mattar captured GLIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after an stellar performance in Saturday's win over Findlay.
Mattar led the Cardinals to a narrow 147-141 victory over the No. 19 nationally-ranked University of Findlay Oilers to remain undefeated on the season. Mattar posted a pair of first place finishes in the 400 IM and the 200 Breast and added runner-up showings in the 100 Breast and 200 Medley Relay.
The team will now head up to the UP in a tri-match against Northern Michigan / Grand Valley State in Marquette on Saturday (Nov. 3) 12:30 pm.
