Cardinals round-out competition at 2018 NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The SVSU Swimming & Diving team rounded-out competition on Saturday (Mar. 17) at the 2018 NCAA Division II Championships, hosted at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Cardinals had several swimmers in action on the fourth and final day, finishing the 2017-18 campaign for SVSU.  

200 Backstroke

Amanda Thielen was 18th in the race, just missing out on a trip to the consolation finals after touching the board with a mark of 2:01.82. 

Rebeca Martinez raced in the event as well, turning in a 23rd place finish after a time of 2:03.07. 

100 Freestyle

Melanie Soenksen finished 51st in the event, posting a time of 52.08 seconds. 

The 2017-18 season is now complete for the men's and women's swimming & diving squads. The teams will return to the pool in November of 2018.
