NORFOLK, Va. -- The Saginaw Valley State University Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving programs have both achieved Scholar All-America Team honors for the Fall 2017 semester. It was announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Cardinal Women, who earned a 3.43 GPA for this past fall semester, have earned this honor every semester they have been in existence and now have seven straight. The SVSU Men recorded a GPA of 3.22 and this marks their first national team academic honor.

For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

Saginaw Valley returns to action for the 2018 GLIAC Championships, which are set to take place Feb. 14-17 in Jenison, Michigan. The Cardinals finished fourth on both sides last season in the event that was hosted by the Cardinals.
