CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Release

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Saginaw Valley State University swimming & diving teams brought home some national academic recognition this week, earning CSCAA Scholar All-America honors.

The SVSU women's team earned the winter Scholar All-America team honor, earning a 3.24 GPA for this past winter semester. 

Four individuals from the women's team claimed individual Scholar All-America plaudits as well, as Alexandra Davis, Lydia Mattar, Melanie Soenksen and Wilhelmina Francisco (HM) were named to the team. 

From the men's side, Dalton Pokley earned Scholar All-America Honorable Mention honors as well.

The selections recognize students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

In addition to the 997 first-team selections, 954 students were named as Honorable Mention selections. These students have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.
