MARQUETTE, Mich. - The SVSU women's and men's swimming & diving teams traveled to Northern Michigan University to square-off in a tri-meet with the Wildcats and the Grand Valley State University Lakers. 

The Cardinals would fall to both teams in men's and women's competition against two of the perennial top teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

  • 400 Yard Medley Relay | 3rd | 3:30.77 | Dalton Pokley, Shaun Yap, Michael Spears, Jayden Hutchinson - 3rd best time in program history.
  • 1,000 Yard Freestyle | 2nd | 9:53.06 | Peter Lin - 3rd best time in program history, as he owns all three.
  • 200 Freestyle | 2nd | 1:44.90 | Jayden Hutchinson
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke | 1st | 56:54 | Shaun Yap - Pool record at NMU. 6th best mark in history, with him holding the top seven now.
  • 200 Yard Breaststroke | 1st | 2:06.22 | Shaun Yap 
  • 500 Yard Freestyle | 3rd | 4:43.47 | Peter Lin - 5th best time, and he owns all five.

Saginaw Valley is back in action on Saturday (Nov. 5) as the Cardinals travel to Kalamazoo College for a non-conference meet. The event is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. against the NCAA Division III opponents.
