SVSU announces resignation of Ambrosi as Head Softball Coach

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – After two seasons with the Cardinals, Saginaw Valley State University Head Softball Coach Christie Ambrosi has announced her resignation, it was announced by SVSU on Tuesday.

In her first season in 2021, SVSU finished with a record of 29-17 under Ambrosi and has a total record with the Cardinals of 51-29 through her time in 2022. In 2021, Ambrosi coached six All-GLIAC honorees, including two on the First Team. The Cardinals had eight All-GLIAC award winners in 2022, including four on the First Team.

The Cardinals won the 2022 GLIAC Tournament and earned a bid to the NCAA DII National Tournament. SVSU advanced to the Midwest Regional final before falling in the championship round, finishing the season with a record of 36-20.

The Cardinals will immediately begin the search for the program's 17th Head Coach.
