Eight Cardinals Earn All-GLIAC Softball Honors

GLIAC -- Eight Saginaw Valley State University Softball players earned All-GLIAC recognition for their play throughout the 2018 season. The annual all-league teams were officially announced in conjunction with the 2018 GLIAC Softball Tournament. The Cardinals had one first team honoree, five second team members and a pair of players earn honorable mention honors.

All-GLIAC First Team

Meredith Rousse - SR, 2B, Bay City, Mich. / Western HS

  • Second straight All-GLIAC First Team honor to go along with an honorable mention honor in 2016
  • Leads the team with .371 average, 59 hits and 16 doubles. Ranks 5th in GLIAC with 14 SB, 4th with 16 2B, and 3rd with 37 runs. 
  • SVSU's all-time leader in doubles
  • Ranks top-10 at SVSU in nine categories: at-bats, hits, doubles, home runs, runs, stolen bases, RBI, walks and batting average. 

All-GLIAC Second Team

Danielle Hamilton - SR, OF, Howell, Mich. / Howell HS

  • Second All-GLIAC Second Team honor for SVSU, having earned the honor in 2016 as well
  • Hit .352 with 50 hits, 3 2B, 18 RBI and 13 SB. 
  • Ranks top-10 at SVSU in average, stolen bases and hits

Maddy Burgess - SR, OF, Commerce, Mich. / Lakeland HS

  • First All-GLIAC honor for the Cardinals
  • Hit .301 with 47 hits, 7 2B and 13 SB
  • Ranks top-10 at SVSU in hits, stolen bases and batting average

Courtney Reeves, SR, UT, Kenosha, Wis. / Lincoln Land CC

  • Second All-GLIAC honor after earning first team honors in 2017
  • Leads the GLIAC with 12 HR, hitting .341 with 43 hits, 10 2B and a team-high 37 RBI. She is just one HR shy of matching the program career record of 28
  • Holds the single season record with 15 HR (2017)

Anna Conard, SR, P, Green Bay, Wis. / Preble Bay HS

  • First All-GLIAC honor
  • Ranks 5th in the GLIAC with her 12 victories, going 12-6 with a save and 10 complete games in 114.1 IP
  • Led the team's staff with an ERA of 3.18

Aubree Mouthaan, JR, AL (SS), Cedar Springs, Mich. / Cedar Springs HS

  • Second All-GLIAC honor, being named honorable mention in 2017
  • Hit .254, belting 10 HR with 7 2B and 25 RBI
  • Her 10 HR rank her second in the GLIAC
  • Ranks 3rd at SVSU with 25 career HR

All-GLIAC Honorable Mention 

Evy Lobdell - SR, 1B, Stockbridge, Mich. / Stockbridge HS

  • Second straight All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honor
  • Hit .284 with 40 hits, 5 2B, 18 RBI and a career-high 3 HR
  • Ranks top-10 in at-bats, hits, doubles and RBI at SVSU

Lauren Bachert - SR, OF, Grand Ledge, Mich. / Grand Ledge HS

  • Second All-GLIAC honor after earning second team plaudits in 2017
  • Hit .299 with 47 hits, 13 2B, 13 RBI and a team-high two 3B and three HR
