2018 GLIAC Softball Tournament Central

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- The Cardinal Softball Team is set to open play on Friday (May 4) at the 2018 GLIAC Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at The Sports Force Parks in Sandusky, Ohio.

Saginaw Valley earned the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament and will square-off against No. 6 Ashland University. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.

The Cardinals and Eagles met four times this season, with Ashland taking three out of the four games played. The teams split on Apr. 25 at Saginaw Valley before the Eagles had a sweep over SV on Apr. 28 in Ohio. 

SVSU is looking to repeat as the tournament champion, having won the 2017 event by going 4-0 throughout and defeating Ashland in the championship series by scores of 1-0 and 11-7. That sparked SVSU's run to the finals of the Midwest Region #2 Tournament in Evansville, Indiana.

- Aubree Mouthaan is 2nd in the league with 10 home runs.

- Meredith Rousse is 5th in the league with 14 stolen bases, 4th with 16 doubles and 3rd with 37 runs scored.

- Anna Conard is 5th with her 12 victories pitching.

- Kasey Bagelmann is tied for the league lead with two saves.
