GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University junior infielder Becky Corbett was named the GLIAC Softball Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals offensively to a pair of sweeps. 

Corbett had a solid week in leading the Cardinals to a 4-0 record with sweeps over Northwood and Ferris State. Corbett hit .556, knocking two home runs with a pair of doubles, three RBI and a pair of walks. She added a pair of stolen bases as well, upping her season total to nine. That sits 4th in the GLIAC.

Saginaw Valley sits third in the league standings with a league record of 7-3 and carries an overall mark of 16-12. The Cards return to action this weekend, hosting Ashalnd Saturday at 1 pm and Wayne State Sunday at noon.
