ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinal Softball team continued its trip on Friday (Mar. 9) afternoon, facing Missouri-St. Louis in a regional doubleheader. The Tritons would come out ahead in both contests, taking the opener by a 7-1 before closing-out for the sweep with a 7-0 victory in the nightcap.

Game 1 (L, 7-1)

The Tritons took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take the 4-0 edge.

Saginaw Valley got on the board with a single run in the top of the 4th, using a lead-off solo home run from Courtney Reeves to make the score 4-1.

UMSL added two more in the bottom of the 4th and another in the home half of the 6th, pushing the lead to the final count of 7-1.

Maddy Burgess had two hits in the game while Reeves (HR) and Lauren Bachert (2B) had the only extra-base hits for SV in the game.

Anna Conard (4-2) took the loss pitching, working just 1.1 innings while allowing four runs on four hits. She walked two and had two strikeouts as well.

Game 2 (L, 7-0)
