FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the 2017 All-GLIAC Softball Teams. Six Cardinal student-athletes earned all-league recognition, including three All-GLIAC First Team recipients.

This year's team carries a 31-14 overall record into the GLIAC Softball Tournament, entering as the No. 3 seed after a 14-8 GLIAC mark. SVSU has claimed at least 30 victories the past three seasons and are currently ranked fourth in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings. The Cardinals are ranked No. 24 nationally as well.  

First Team All-GLIAC

Courtney Reeves - DP

Reeves tied the program's single season record with 12 home runs and she is tied for the GLIAC lead in that category as well. She hit .339, adding seven doubles, 34 RBI and 15 walks. She posted a slugging percentage of .677 in her 45 games played.

Samantha Willman - P

Willman has a 16-6 overall record for SVSU, appearing in 26 games and starting 23 of them. She carries a 1.94 era, striking-out 142 batters in her 155.1 innings pitched. Willman's .198 opponent batting average ranks 4th in the league while her 16 victories are 3rd.

Meredith Rousse - At-Large (2B)

Rousse leads the Cardinals and is 4th in the GLIAC with her .457 batting average. She has racked-up 15 doubles, 29 RBI, six home runs, two triples and drawn 27 walks. Rousse scored 43 runs during the regular season and has a slugging percentage of .721, as well as a .544 on-base percentage. She went 22-for-23 on stolen base attempts. Her average ranks 4th in the league, as do her runs and doubles. Her stolen bases are third while her on-base and slugging percentages rank 2nd in the league.  

Second Team All-GLIAC

Lauren Bachert - At-Large (OF)

Bachert registered five home runs at the plate for SV while posting a .323 batting average. She added 10 doubles and 25 RBI, scoring 24 runs and adding 10 walks, posting a .524 slugging percentage and .372 on-base percentage.  

All-GLIAC Honorable Mention

Evy Lobdell - 1B

Lobdell hit. 336 with a tem-best 17 doubles, which rank her 2nd in the GLIAC. She scored 27 runs, adding 31 RBI and a home run while slugging .467. Lobdell notched a .372 on-base percentage while starting all of the team's 45 regular season games.

Aubree Mouthaan - SS

Mouthaan led the team with 38 RBI, a figure that ranks second in the GLIAC. She hit .297 with eight home runs, 12 doubles and 32 runs scored. Mouthaan added 12 walks, slugging .572 and posting a .340 on-base percentage.

The 2017 Cardinals are currently ranked No. 4 in the latest Midwest Regional Rankings and are poised for an NCAA Division II postseason berth. The team has claimed three consecutive 30-win seasons.
