NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The SVSU Softball team posted a split in GLIAC play on Saturday afternoon at Walsh University. The Cardinals dropped a close 1-0 game in the opener before rebounding for a big 6-0 victory in the nightcap over the Cavaliers.

Game One

Walsh got its lone run in the bottom of the second inning, as the Cavaliers manufactured a run and Kendra Moore pushed Abbie Yaugher across the plate for the 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals couldn't get on the board in the game, as SVSU had just a pair of hits in the game.

Inside the Boxscore

  • The Cardinals managed just two hits in the opener, as Shelby Weeks and Danielle Hamilton both registered a single in the contest.
  • Sarah Appold (4-3) took the loss despite allowing just three hits and a single run and striking-out nine batters.

Game Two

The nightcap went scoreless through three full innings and the Cards, playing as the home team, got two runs in the bottom half of the fourth when Claire Coopes-Meske knocked-in Meredith Rousse and Evy Lobdell had an RBI to score Weeks.
