EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational on Friday (9/17).
On the men's side, Tyler Noble (Shepherd, Mich.) was the top finisher for the Cardinals, finishing 59th overall in a Division-I heavy field, running a 26:13. Jeff Wilson (South Lyon, Mich.) was next for Saginaw Valley, finishing with a time of 26:39. Jon Wetters (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) was the third-best finisher for the Cardinals, running a time of 27:00.
On the women's side, Ashley Meyer (Shepherd, Mich.) led the Cards with a time of 23:29 in the event. Jean Hollerbach (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) was next for SVSU, finishing with a time of 23:31. Megan Pittors (Macomb, Mich./Dakota HS) finished with a mark of 23:45 to round-out the top three for Saginaw Valley.
The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Oct. 2, when they will compete in the Lansing Invitational.
