Linwood, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's cross country team finished second at the 2009 GLIAC Cross Country Championships, held at Maple Leaf Golf Course in Linwood, Mich.
The Cardinals had three runners finish in the top-eight, with Steve Genther leading the way in third place with a time of 24:47. Nick Ekel finished sixth with a time of 24:59 while Cortland Seaver was eighth with a time of 25:11. Derek Stone (14th) and Marion Body (27th) rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals. Genther and Ekel received First Team All-GLIAC honors while Cortland Seaver and Derek Stone garnered Second Team honors.
The next event scheduled is the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, which will be held in Kenosha, Wis. on November 7.
