MIDLAND, Mich. - Today (Sept. 11) the Saginaw
Valley State University men’s cross-country competed in their
first meet of the season held at Northwood University.
The Cardinals ran against some tough competition and ran very
well. They were lead by freshman Tyler Noble (Shepherd,
Mich.) who finished second overall with an impressive time of
21:25. Finishing right behind Noble was sophomore Derek Welmers
(Standish, Mich. / Standish-Sterling HS) who came in third with a
time of 21:31. Teammates Jon Wetters
(Essexville, Mich. / Garber HS), Greg Baade (Warren,
Mich. De La Salle Collegiate), and Jeff Wilson (South
Lyon, Mich. / Berkley HS) finished in seventh, 12th and 13th places
respectively.
The Cardinals will compete again September 18th at 1:00pm at
Michigan State University.
