HILLSDALE - The SVSU track & field teams competed on day two at the 2015 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Ken Herrick Track on the campus of Hillsdale College.
Andrew Mudd finished runner-up in the Men's Decathlon for the championships, earning the spot with a point total of 6,982. His best two finishes on Thursday were in the 110 Meter Hurdles and the 1,500 Meter Run, where he finished in second in both of those.
Frank Sanders finished 4th in the High Jump for the championships, crossing the bar at a height of 6'9.75" (2.08M).
Robert Tarpley placed in the Long Jump for the Cards, posting a distance of 22'4.25" (6.81M).
In the men's 800 Meter Run, Andrew Middleton will be taking part in the finals on Friday as well, finishing 7th with a time of 1:54.68.
The Men's 4 x 100 Meter Relay squad finished in 8th place with a time of 42.94, earning them a spot in Friday's finals for the event.
Sidney Bischer rounded-out her competition in the Women's Heptathlon and ended up with a 4th place showing in the event. She totaled 4,526 points in the meet, marking a new record.
In the women's 800 Meter Run, both Taylor Stpanski and Paige Stepanski qualified for Friday's finals. Taylor has the #1 time with a mark of 2:14.52 while Paige has the #3 with a time of 2:15.51.
In the Javelin Throw, Cady Sandel placed in the finals with a 5th place showing, posting a distance of 117'3" (35.73M).
A pair of Lady Cardinals also qualified for the finals of the 1,500 Meter Run, as Chantelle Fondren (3rd) had a time of 4:43.17 and Brittany Johnson (5th) posted a mark of 4:41.17 in her heat.
The Women's 4 x 100 Meter Relay Team finished 5th with a time of 48.71 to qualify for Friday's finals as well.
The final day of competition takes place on Friday, with field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. and running events starting at noon.
