Cardinals Compete at Ernie Mousseau Classic

UNIVERSITY CENTER - The SVSU track & field teams traveled to compete at the Ernie Mousseau Classic, hosted by Aquinas College over the weekend.

The men were paced by the 4 x 100 Meter relay team, which finished in the top spot with a time of 42.36.  That team was built of Josh Simmons, Travon Phillips, Brandon Love and Andrew Mudd.  

In the Javelin, Ian Rudel (2nd) and Joe Thwing (4th) had top-five finishes with distances of 48.61 meters and 42.40 meters, respectively.

Ben Morrow took third in the Discus Throw with a mark of 47.29 meters and added a fifth place showing in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 50.82 meters.  Teammate Devin Hartnagle was fourth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 52.30 meters, as he added fifth place finishes in the Discus Throw (46.11m) and Shot Put (14.18m).

Elias Chiatalis finished fourth in the 800 Meter Run and teammate Andrew Plude finished right behind in fifth place.  The two posted times of 1:58.01 and 1:59.19, respectively.

Shawn Stewart competed in the 400 Meter Run, posting a fourth place showing with a time of 50.59.

On the women's side, Lina Davis had a second place finish in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:04.59.    Savanah Feldpausch was sixth in the same race, posting a time of 1:07.30.

Teammate Sidney Bischer finished fifth in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.11 meters.  She added eighth place finishes in the 200 Meter and 100 Meter Hurdles, crossing the line in times of 26.54 and 16.56, respectively.

The teams are back in action from Apr. 29 - May 1 for the GLIAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Hillsdale College for the 2015 season in Hillsdale, Michigan.
