Grob Posts National Provisional Mark at GVSU Bob Eubanks Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Junior Tyler Grob (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney HS) of the Saginaw Valley State University men's track and field team placed second in the heptathlon competition at the GVSU hosted Bob Eubanks Open.

After the first day of competition Grob was placed sixth overall with a point total of 2,487.  He earned a sixth place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.52 and a seventh place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.81 meters.  Grob would clinch a second place finish in the shot put with a toss of 12.58 meters and a ninth place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.76 meters.  He started the second day of competition with a second place finish in the 60-meter hurdles crossing the line at 8.90.  Grob would then place first in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.30 meters, good for 702 points.  He then earned a second place finish in the 1,000-meter run timing in at 2:49.83.  

Grob ended the competition with a second place finish and would earn a NCAA Division II National Provisional Qualifying mark of 4,724 points.

The Cardinals will be back in action again Friday (1/20) when they host the SVSU Indoor Classic.
