Luke Ruff enters his third season as an assistant coach on the SVSU Men's Soccer coaching staff. 
Ruff joined the SVSU men's soccer coaching staff after serving three years (2013-2015) on the Northwood University men’s soccer staff.
As a full-time assistant for the program, Northwood won the 2014 and 2015 GLIAC Tournament, as well as being the 2015 GLIAC Regular Season Champions. The GLIAC regular season Championship in 2015 and the GLIAC Tournament Championship in 2014 were the first in program history. Northwood hosted the first two rounds of the 2014 and 2015 NCAA Tournaments, as well as advancing to the 2015 NCAA Round of 16 in this period.

Ruff was the Owner and Director of Coaching at the Mid-Michigan PSG. Ruff is now the Director of Coaching at Nationals Soccer Club Tricounty. He served as the 00 Boys Coach for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and is now serving as the 02 Olympic Development Program Coach.  He achieved FA Level 2, USSF National D and E Licenses and is working towards his USSF Nationals C License. He is also the Camp Director at Elite College Academy.

As a player at Northwood University, Ruff was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year and Daktronic First Team All-Region following the 2012 campaign. He earned NSCAA All-Region and First Team All-GLIAC honors in both his junior and senior seasons. In addition, Ruff was named Second Team All-GLIAC his sophomore year and was a two-year captain for the Timberwolves.For his career, Ruff played in 41 matches and finished with a 26-18-10 record.
A native of Bradford, England, and graduate of Northwood University, Ruff currently lives in Grand Blanc with his wife Mallory.
