Cardinals Fall After Late Second-Half Goal

ST. LOUIS – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team fell 1-0 at Maryville (Mo.) on Saturday afternoon.

Evan Baker led offensively with three shots, one of which was on goal. Jonathan Monney and Chidie Nnolim each recorded a shot. Nick Kay (L, 0-1) made seven saves in net for the Cardinals to keep things close, but SVSU couldn't find the back of the net.

The Saints scored in the 85th minute to break the tie and earn the victory. The home team outshot the Cardinals 18-5.

Saginaw Valley will look to earn a win in the home opener on Thursday, September 7 when Northwood visits Braddock Field for a 12:00 p.m.
