SVSU settles for scoreless tie at NMU

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team came away with a second scoreless draw of the weekend, tying Northern Michigan University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest Sunday in Marquette, Mich.

The Cardinals had four shots on goal, but the Wildcats turned them all away in the 0-0 tie after two overtime periods.

The draw moves SVSU to 7-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the GLIAC as the Cardinals prepare to return home for the final five games of the regular season.

Northern Michigan held the advantage in total shots 13-10, as Mason Maziasz made two saves for the Cardinals in net for his second shutout of the weekend. Alex Gloshen led the SVSU offense with five shots and two on goal.

The Cardinals return home to host St. Cloud State University at 4 pm Friday at Braddock Field.
