KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Saginaw Valley State University senior midfielder Connor Rutz has earned another postseason honor for 2019, being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team on Wednesday (Dec. 11) afternoon.

Rutz adds it to his growing list of postseason plaudits, as he was earlier named to the United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team, All-GLIAC First Team and GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year. With the honor, he becomes the eighth All-American in the history of the program.

Connor led the GLIAC in goals with nine in the regular season and had three game-winning goals for SVSU. He finished second in the league with 23 points, just one point behind the regular season leaders. He led the Cardinals in shots (47) and shots on-goal (23) and had a shot on-goal percentage of .489. He led the team with five regular season assists as well. In postseason play, Rutz added a goal and an assist in two GLIAC Tournament matches, upping his 2019 total to 10 goals and six assists.

Saginaw Valley posted an overall record of 13-6-1 in 2019 and narrowly missed out on another trip to the NCAA Division II tournament.
