GLIAC -- SVSU senior midfielder Connor Rutz has earned his second Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week honor following a standout performance in two Cardinal victories.
Rutz had a standout weekend in leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 record with wins over Upper Iowa and Purdue Northwest. Rutz had a hat trick and an assist on Friday in the team's 8-2 win over the Peacocks and added a goal in SVSU's 3-2 win over the Pride on Sunday. Rutz currently leads the GLIAC in goals (6), assists (4) and points (16) for the 2019 campaign.
The Cardinals hit the road this upcoming weekend for two GLIAC matches, playing at Parkside on Friday (Oct. 4) at 3:30 pm before taking on Northern Michigan on Sunday in a noon matchup.
