INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Competing in a second straight regional matchup, the No. 19-ranked SVSU Men's Soccer faced the University of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon in a road contest. After leading 1-0 throughout most of the match, the Cardinals allowed a late goal in regulation and eventually dropped an overtime battle by a score of 2-1 to the Greyhounds.
SVSU took an early lead in the contest as Brady Walker collected his first goal of the season in the 11th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
A physical opening half remained with that score into the break with both teams getting five shots off in the first 45 minutes of action.
It wasn't until the 84th minute until the score would change, this time with Indy getting a goal to knot the score at 1-1.
The Cardinals had a pair of chances in the final three minutes with shots on goal but those were both saved and the Hounds were able to keep the match tied at 1-1 and head into overtime.
After Saginaw Valley had another shot on goal that was turned away at the 94:07 mark, Indy would find the back of the net at the 94:42 point to claim a 2-1 victory.

"There were a lot of positives to take away from today's match. There was some good soccer played and for long stretches we looked very organized defensively. There was some lack of composure and quality when it mattered that hurt us and led to a couple of conceded goals. UIndy is a very good team that will do well in the GLVC this year."
