BAY CITY, Mich. - SVSU men's soccer student-athlete Matt Wilson has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Soccer Offensive player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a pair of victories over this past weekend. It marks his second time earning the honor this season, as he was named the POTW in week three as well.
Wilson had a huge weekend for the GLIAC leaders, scoring a pair of goals and adding a trio of assists in victories over Lake Erie and Walsh. Wilson had a goal and three assists in SVSU's 4-2 win over the Storm on Friday and followed that up with the team's game-winning goal on Sunday in double-overtime over the Cavaliers. Wilson currently leads the league in goals (12), assists (10) and points (34).
Saginaw Valley travels to play at Tiffin on Wednesday (Oct. 26) in a 2:00 p.m. contest before hosting Northern Michigan on Friday (Oct. 28) at 2:30 p.m. in the final regular season match of the 2016 campaign.
